Tips
Replace water with milk for a richer flavor.
Store-bought olive oil works perfectly.
If you don’t like olive oil, substitute it with sunflower oil.
Stappenplan
Combine the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, dried basil, herb cream cheese, olive oil, and lukewarm water in a large bowl. Mix well and knead for 10-12 minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and divide it into 12 portions (about 80 grams per ball).
Take a portion of dough and flatten it slightly. Roll it out into an oval shape (or any desired shape).
Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread a layer of herb cream cheese on top and garnish with cherry tomatoes, chives, and dried basil. Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F). Bake the bread for 12-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on the baking time as ovens can vary.
Cover the freshly baked bread with a tea towel as soon as they come out of the oven.
