Take a deep bowl and combine the lukewarm milk, yeast, vanilla sugar, and white caster sugar. Mix everything well and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes.
Add the vanilla pudding and mix everything until smooth. Gradually add the beaten egg while continuing to mix. Then add the butter, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix everything into a cohesive dough and knead it for 10-12 minutes. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, until it has doubled in size.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it out to a thickness of 1.5 cm.
Cut the dough into pieces using a pizza cutter or knife and let it rise for 30 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size again.
Heat a layer of sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium heat (175℃). Fry the vanilla donuts until golden brown on both sides. Let the donuts drain on a sheet of kitchen paper.
If you like, you can coat the vanilla donuts in granulated sugar before serving.
