Tips
Use a thick-bottomed pan to prevent the cheese and cream from burning. A non-stick pan is also ideal.
Cheese sauce can burn if not stirred properly. Use a whisk or silicone spatula to mix thoroughly.
Jalapeños and sambal add spice to the sauce. Add more sambal or jalapeños for a spicier sauce, or reduce the amount for a milder flavor.
Store leftover cheese sauce in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat on low heat or in the microwave, but add a little milk or cream to bring back its creamy texture.

Heat the heavy cream along with the cheddar cheese, sambal, and turmeric over low to medium heat. Stir constantly until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce has a smooth, creamy texture. If the sauce is too thin, let it thicken for 1-2 minutes over low heat while continuing to stir.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the finely chopped jalapeños. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
