Tips
Use high-quality meat from the butcher for the best results.
Ensure your pan is hot before adding the meat.
Avoid over-flipping or piercing the meat to retain its juices.
Choose starchy potatoes for an extra creamy mash.
Stappenplan
Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the potatoes, and cook for about 15-20 minutes until soft. Drain the water.
Add salt, black pepper, dried parsley, butter, and heavy cream to the warm potatoes. Mash or blend until creamy.
Remove the beef tenderloin from the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature. Pat the meat dry with paper towels and place it in a bowl. Add salt, cayenne powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and fresh parsley and mix well to coat the meat evenly.
Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the beef tenderloin and sear on both sides (about 1-2 minutes per side) until golden brown While cooking, spoon the melted butter over the meat for extra flavor. Remove the meat from the pan and let it rest for 5-10 minutes under loosely tented aluminum foil to allow the juices to redistribute.
Meanwhile, heat another frying pan over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt. Add the chopped yellow onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft. Stir in the salt, cayenne powder, sweet soy sauce, and heavy cream. Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened. Add the dried parsley and mix well.
Slice the beef tenderloin into thick pieces or serve it whole. Pair it with the creamy mashed potatoes and flavorful onion sauce. Add grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
